Local people, national reach

APC Manchester is an independent, locally run depot. We're also a member of The APC, so your parcels travel on a network that covers the whole of the UK.

How the network works

The APC was started in 1994 by a group of independent carriers who wanted to raise the standard of overnight delivery in the UK. It's still built the same way: each area is served by a locally owned depot, and every depot feeds into the same central sortation hubs at Cannock and Essington.

That gives you two things at once. A local team who answer the phone, know your business and can bend collection times when you need it. And the reach of the UK's largest independent parcel network, with more than 90 depots nationwide.

Every parcel, step by step

  1. We collect it from you and scan it in at our Manchester depot.
  2. It travels overnight to The APC hub, where it's scanned again and sorted by destination.
  3. The delivery depot scans it onto a van first thing in the morning.
  4. Your customer gets a delivery window by email or text, then a proof of delivery is recorded.
